Privacy policy

In short

  • You do not need an account. We store no data about you on our server.
  • Your details (language, canton, permit, children, ticks) stay on your phone.
  • We count anonymously how the app is used. No cookies, no advertising companies.
  • Chat questions go to an AI service in Switzerland. We do not store them.

What stays on your phone?

If you enter your language, canton, permit or children, only your phone stores this (in the browser, "localStorage"). These details never leave your phone. You can delete them at any time: start page, "Delete my details".

What do we count?

We use the software Umami on our own server. It counts page views and actions, for example "step done" or "course clicked". The rules:

  • No cookies. No advertising companies. No Google Analytics.
  • Your IP address is shortened and not stored.
  • We never store your name, your address or your exact permit.
  • We never store the text you type into the search or the chat.

We only store coarse groups, for example "asylum" or "EU/EFTA", and only to improve the app.

The chat "Ask ZentralStart"

Your question goes to an AI service of the company Infomaniak. Processing takes place in Switzerland. We do not store your question. The service answers only with information from this app. Please do not write your name or address in the chat.

Search and feedback

If a search finds nothing, we store the search word without any link to you. This shows us which information is missing. Feedback ("helped", "outdated") is anonymous.

Course registration with SmartTalk

When you tap "Register", you move to the website kurse.smarttalk.ch. We tell you beforehand. There the SmartTalk privacy policy applies. That website uses Google Tag Manager, a service of the company Google.

Server and security

The app runs on a server of the company Infomaniak in Switzerland. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS). Server logs with shortened IP addresses are deleted after 14 days.

Your rights

Because we store no data about you, we usually cannot provide access to data. You delete the details on your phone yourself in the app. For questions write to info@smarttalk.ch.

We update this policy when something changes. The date above shows the current version.
