Violence at home: Here you get protection

Violence in the family is forbidden. Help is free and confidential. If you are in danger, call 117.

Domestic violence means: violence in the family or in a relationship. Hitting, threatening, locking someone up, forcing someone to have sex. Psychological violence also counts.

This is forbidden in Switzerland. It is never your fault.

In case of acute danger, call the police: 117. Or 112. The police come and protect you.

You get help no matter what passport or residence status you have.

Opferberatung Luzern

The victim support centre (Opferberatungsstelle) Kanton Luzern advises you. Free, confidential, also anonymous. For women, men and children.

They listen and explain your rights. They help with the next steps: police report, lawyer, safe place, money.

Frauenhaus Luzern

The women's shelter (Frauenhaus) is a safe place at a secret address. For women aged 18 and over, with and without children. No matter what nationality or income.

Phone day and night: 041 360 70 00. You can also just call and get advice.

Men

Men also experience violence at home. The victim support service (Opferberatung) is there for men too. Call 041 228 74 00 or 142.

Children

Are children affected or do they see the violence? They get help too. Children and young people can call 147.

The victim support service also advises parents.
